    Morning,

I have the Shimano FC-MT611 cranks on my XC bike and want to fit a bigger chainring. It says they’re not compatible with much but want to fit an XT 36T both are direct mount so wondering if it will work?

    Thanks

Trying to see if an XT chainring will fit even though it says they’re not compatible? Both are direct mount.

    Thanks

I know the locking is marked suggesting they are different but pretty sure the rings use the same mounting pattern across Deore, SLX and XT.

Hopefully someone can confirm many of the the aftermarket rings cover all three so unless its the lockring that is crank specific.

This also suggests that SLX will fit no problem https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/chainrings/shimano-deore-fcm61001-direct-mount-single-chainring-30t/

I run a set of 8100 cranks with a 6100 ring, if that helps?
Think I used the 8100 lockring, no interface issues from what I remember.
