    I am considering changing my rear tyre and like the look of the Big Betty in 2.4″ 27.5″. Got a MM on the front which I love. Not many proper reviews around as its not been out long. Anyone running one on the rear?

    The Super Trail weight it right up there with a DHR2 DD. Is the Super Trail robust enough for the rear of an aggressive trail bike on rocky terrain? The Super Gravity is another 100g!

    I’ve put one on the rear but not ridden it yet. Probably not that much help.

    I went SG as I’m a bloater though.

    Considering that so many people seem to be running tyres an heavier “tier” above what they ride, I’d say Schwalbe did the right move with the new range

    Just ordered one in supertrail 2.4 soft. Will post up what it’s like when I get a chance to try it.

    Been running a 2.4 x 29 Big Betty in super trail casing, soft, the last few weeks. Seems really good, very happy with it. I was out in the slop a couple of days ago and worked well, and it’s had plenty of rock bashing and held up no problem. Pretty similar to a DHR2 DD I’d say.

    That’s good to know. I’m having reliability problems with my Hutchinson Griffus, so if the super trail is similar in strength to a DD that would be great. The question would be, do I still run my rimpact as well?

    Blake how did it roll compared to a dhr2?

    I was worried they’d be a pig to ride uphills but they don’t seem to roll any worse than anything else. They’re pretty heavy (1.3kg) which I think is a bit heavier than the equivalent Maxxis. I wouldn’t put them on an xc race bike! But for general trail riding they seem fine. I’m not the most fussy / particular rider though so maybe wouldn’t notice.

    @Blake

    Are they true to size (i.e. bigger than Maxxiss 2.4)?

    @1timmy1 Just measured it as having a 60mm wide carcass, a couple of mm bigger if you measure knobble to knobble. That’s on a 30mm wide DT Swiss M502 rim 👍

    Thanks for measuring it! That’s good to know, I have XM481 30mm rims, so it should be the same for me.
