I’ve got Selle Italia SLR 135g saddle on my road bike.
I find it comfy up to about 4hrs in the saddle, but then it’s just a bit too hard.
Can I get it recovered with a bit more padding put under, or which saddles are similar shape / profile?
Ive tried various other saddles including Charge Spoon which everyone appears to like but I find it very uncomfortable.

I have one of those on my road bike too (for 14 years!). I find it comfy over 6 hours+ though. What I can say is that I spent 11:30 on a specialized henge with no botty problems at all this weekend (MTB though), so maybe the BG ones are a similar shape? I also have a newer slr but not spent much time on it yet. Maybe only 2:30 in a single ride. Dunno if I'm helping?
I just bought a ti railed Pro turnix from merlin for 20 quid. .Reduced from 80. Weighs 200 gm. They had 3 different models to choose from so have a look on the pro site and see if you fancy any.
I was just about to suggest a Pro Turnix too. Deffo worth a try at £20
SLR XP?
I’ll take it off your hands , how much do you want?

Its not for sale (well unless I find a better replacement)
I’ve had it many many years to the point I can’t recall where I got it from, I remember it was s bargain price though!
Might try one of those Merlins as you say worth the risk for £20
I had a couple of those for a while too.
I'm now riding a charge spoon and a charge knife. The knife is probably closest to the SLR with a little more padding.
The only pro turnix I can see on Merlin is white 🤮

This one is same weight available in black.. Only 132 width however
If you need more padding, did you consider different shorts?

Possibly the best saddle in the history of saddles. I totalled mine last year and was absolutely gutted.
You may want to try some of the less expensive SLRs. They're not quite the same shape but they have more padding.
Of course the real answer is to get fitter & stronger and pedal really hard all the time so you put less weight on the saddle. Then you'll find there aren't any uncomfortable saddles
