I have an old pair of Sidi winter boots with straps that kinda work, with a bit of persuasion but can sometimes come open again.

Is there any way to fix this?

I’m going to stick them in the washing machine to see if that cleans them up a bit, but I think it’s more the hooks rather than the loops if you get what I mean.

    ahem, thanks in advance….;-)

Brush all the rubbish out of the wooly bit, then trim it a bit shorter carefully with a pair of scissors, then get a road inner tube and cut some 2cm sections, like fat little elastic bands.

Use the fat little bands like you would use that bit on a watch strap that you tuck the strap into after the buckle.. Keeps the velcro pressed down and stops it coming undone.

Tis an old cyclo-cross trick to stop velcro coming undone in muddy conditions.
