It’s sticky no more as the forum is now fixed and bug-free. I’m sure no-one will mind you digging it out and bumping it back to the top though.

I’ll highlight this to Tech as adding to Forum Update thread will have the same effect, a mod will highlight the post.

Not for me, they’re not. And haven’t been for a year or more. Not a forum or website issue if it only affects certain members. I’m not a subscriber, so don’t have a ‘P’, and I don’t use any sort of adblocking ‘ware, I just use Safari on my iPad.

I don’t know how these things work, just wish they wouldn’t.

I had this happen 3 times in ~10 minutes last night on my phone (I wasn’t logged in if that’s any use). All 3 times I was redirected to another site inviting me to spin a spinner to see what I’d won. I’ve never had any redirects on any device previously and not had any on my phone this morning either.

Yeah I had it on my iPhone yesterday – could barely navigate a page without it popping up again. I gave up and went elsewhere.

I’m winning every time I open this site from my phone! Bonus is the “Congratulations” audio.

Like @CountZero I just use Safari on my iPad so no adblocker (in fact the OS & browser are so old I can’t install any extensions) and don’t get any popups whether logged in or not (I’m not a premium member). I’ll very occasionally use my phone (iPhone 5) to browse the site and don’t get popups there either.

Looking at the parameters in the above links:parm5=singletrackworld.com just tells the popup where it was invoked/called from. PulsePoint is a “programmatic advertising technology company”, the “+bidder” bit is interesting as according to their website it’s their bidding analytics software but I don’t have it on the page as served to me.

The forum has basically been unusable on my mobile for about a week now, popups, redirects and the page jumping around as it slowly loads means I’m only accessing STW via my laptop now.  Add in that it sucks huge amounts of data still – must be all the ads – means that mobile access for me is now out.

My pop up blocker just blocked 14 on one page (Salisbury thread).

Constant pop ups on my android phone / chrome browser.  About every 3 minutes or so.

19 blocked on one page.

Love how the phrase **** useless **** is blocked but these pop ups aren’t .

Getting endless redirects today, several per minute, forum unusable ( Samsung tablet)

Phone currently telling me 17 pop ups blocked on stw. Also browsing 2 other forum’s without any issues.

Thought I’d try again, it’s the only site that does this to me. Works phone so no dodgy browsing. Have a nice weekend all!

Gave up using STW yesterday because of the constant pop ups,  just tried again and still getting a repetitive pop up for free phone every few seconds which my security tells me is a dodgy site. Very frustrating, can’t use the forum at the moment

FFS!!!   Literally as I was about to reply to this thread I got the “Congratulations you’ve won an iPhone x” redirect.

It’s ridiculous. If I spend more than a few minutes on the forum I have countless pop ups blocked and eventually get the redirect website….

Oh my god, it’s intolerable on android on my Nexus 5X. Every other time I open a thread and four out five times when posting I am redirected with an annoying voice saying congratulations.

And SwiftKey still doesn’t work.

I might have to flounce at this rate.

Ironically that win came as I opened this thread along with the 20 odd blocked pop ups.

Sees to have stopped for me at the moment – Friday night it was worst, had to switch phone of as I couldnt get rid of the bloody things.

Keep getting a Samsung spin the wheel jobbie and the site is painfully slow too.

Not that I’d know, I use a very secure browser, folk would be daft not to.

A suggestion for those that are getting the popups/redirects.

Clear all your cookies and browser history. This will get rid of all your log in status details for every web site you’ve visited on the device so not something to do if you don’t want this to happen.

Now log back in to this site and no other and see if the popups return. Don’t visit another site.

If they do then it’s something relating to this site, if they don’t then it was something to do with your web history. It may not be the same reason for each individual.
