Why waste your time watching Wimblydown when you can dot watch some on here churning around these fair isles?

    Terrahawk is having a bash.

We are just heading to the start for a spot of actual people watching – we were here anyway for skipinnish on Friday night.

I’ll be up the heights above Dingwall to watch them grind up the hill.

    Blimey they’re shifting! That’s a rare pace for a race that long…

    About to go through Beauly.

The start was “different” no mistaking that.

Has all the hallmarks of a future classic I think

I climbed to the top of the Mountgerald climb to get some pics.

    Leading riders.

    Team JMC, Jason Miles (Terrahawk)

There wasn’t much of a time gap between the above riders.

    Some different bikes

There’s more pics. Just click on the pics above and it should take you through to my Flickr page.

    They’re still motoring along.

Jason is about to pass Foinhaven.

I wonder who’ll go all out and use all the daylight?

Never looked at this sort of event before. The live tracking and info is great.

Can I ask a dumb question though.

Why is one group in red, the other in blue? Sorry!

its been all change over night…..

clear to see who went long and started early today and who had a long lie.

Numplumz had some bike issues at the start and was last spotted heading towards i think the bike shop and has been steadily clawing back places since.

Terrahawk put up some photos of him still riding into the sunset last night about 11pm. and first light is about 3.30 in that neck of woods. He seems to have made good advantage of that as he was in about 10th when i went to bed and is now 3rd.

Also following Bill Mcissac after we sat and watched the tour de france in platform 8 – claiming the corner TV for our selves and chasing out all the wimbledon people.

Right now the leaders are about to hit the down side of the Bealach.

If you want to see the dots actually moving, this may be the time. 🙂

Ferry Crossing over to Ireland should see a number of riders catching up with each other for both Full and shorter distance riders. Quite mesmerising this dot watching. Members of Rhos On Sea Cycling Club organised the race namely Mally Ryan who has done the Trans Continental. Must say it’s been very well organised and everyone who entered signed on at the start.

Looks like the dash for the 17:30 ferry is on. (I doubt anyone will catch the 13:30)

The next one after that is 23:30 so that puts in a good gap that makes having gone short on sleep last night worthwhile.

First 2 are in N.I. now.

5 including Terrahawk are at ferry terminal in Cairnryan

That should be first 3 in N.I.

aye how did that happen .

When i left the action Chris Pitblado (local lad to you ?) was up front – id have thought he would have pushed for ireland.

Numplumz is picking them off from the rear at great guns .

was there a bottle neck getting the lads on the ferry or something. it seems to have been a full on upside down turn.

and now chris is over the water – and jase isnt – yet both have been showing as at the terminal all night …..

this may be a tracking anomaly and they will all pop up in ireland in a moment mind….

sad to see Bill Mcissac is out. Can only assume the relentless rain has got to him. Some of terrahawks photos have made me glad i wasnt allowed out to play 😀

Don’t know about the weather in N.I. but the last time I saw rain like we’re having now was in the tail end of a cyclone in North Queensland.

    Is the tracker site broken?

It looks the same as 24hrs ago
