Only when descending and for a couple of days afterwards. Death-grip?!!!

Bruised-tendons etc (start doing hand/grip-strengthening exercises or could it be the start of joint-wear?).

I am taking various codliver oil and joint tablets as a precaution.

"death grip" relates to going through sections balls out with no brakes and the hand is firmly on the grip.

What you describe is basically holding too tight on the bars through the rough stuff – i used to get it, try loosening up on the grip, it does make a difference IMO. Sounds daft but it worked for me, i used to get the same pain.

I've got the same thing. If I press the lowest muscle in my finger back whilst pulling the middle knuckle forward, it hurts like a mofo. I put it down to pressure from wearing a ring so I've taken it off for while. Whether that's right or not, guess time will tell.
