Isn't that just a normal car with a body kit?

Wow, they foresee a future where the woman draped over the car is clothed from top to toe! Not sure it is 100% hitting the STW party line

It looks like you steer it with a miniature Planet Saturn...

The sierra start out like this

Anyone care to guess how this saw the light of day?

The alloys and the badge look more ford but the car itself looks like it could have grown up to be an MGF

GTFO, it looks like a 80's Lamborghini had sex with the future. I love it!

Love this Ford...

+1, although I'm not sure how cool it would look parked in Slough. And that's how Top Gear should have done the cool wall, not "would you turn up to take XYZ out in it", but "would it still look good if everything else in the scene wasn't".

Best Renault design ever is the Renault/Lotus Alpine collaboration:

Will it ever make it to market? I'd hope so.

I love a concept car probably as the result of having concept car Top Trumps as a kid.

Why didn't VW put this into production:

[img] [/img]

As for this from Maserati how cool 1970's space age can you get, awesome, want.

I was gutted, too! Even had a deposit with the local dealer on the expectation it would be made in 2003. Think the story was that VW commercial was at odds with VW car division over who would be in charge of the project. Wasn't there a smaller concept version floating around a few years back?

Fiat Barchetta?

Give that man a biscuit!

Craigxxl IIRC it was actually based on the Fiesta chassis (hence the Fiesta pepperpots)

I love those 50's rocketships, like something from Fallout 😀

It became the Barchetta?

Surprised me, it looks way to bulky. I had guessed BMW Z1

Oddly enough as I was cycling home from work earlier a Chrysler Prowler passed me - surely the definition of a concept car that actually made production?

@ The Flying Ox

New Renault Alpine coming next year, I think they're showing it soon, but there's spy shots on the web that look like your concept pic.

Don't think it's got any Lotus involvement though, they worked with Caterham for a couple of years on it, but the partnership broke down and they scraped the idea and started afresh.

The new Alpine is a deliberately badly kept secret. It's all over French media:

Promo vid of new Alpine

First flash new car to tempt me in two decades.
