After the thread from the woman looking for a particular shape of saddle for a specific reason, I know this is may not get taken seriously.
I've got Hydrocele testis on both sides, but far more noticeable on the left.
There's some pictures here (not me) which I ought to warn you are definitely NSFW, unless you're a doctor.
It's making it very uncomfortable to ride a bike, I'm having to sort of hang off one side of the saddle as I ride. Going from standing to sitting, I have to be a bit careful how I sit down so as not to, er, well, you know... I just have to be careful.
Anyway, there's a few different types of noseless saddle.
None of them seem to be widely available and I've never seen one in real life.
Has anyone used one ?
I know I tend to keep one inner thigh against the seat nose while freewheeling standing, so it might feel a bit odd not having that contact. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Probikekit recently started doing the ISM Adamo saddles, which, I believe are the most highly regarded saddles of the kind you are looking for..

(Edit) Even better.. these guys do a 7 day trial on the ISM saddles..

I've seen saddles with various shape cutaways down the middle, but I don't think they would do the job, the cutaway just doesn't look big enough.
The Selle and ISM ones are well over £100. I'd want a test ride first before spending that sort of money on something that may not be any good.
At the risk of being too graphic, it's like having a fruitbowl just the right size for a banana and two plums, and trying to fit in a banana, an orange and a grapefruit.
I've got probably about two months until the operation, then recovery time after that.
The only way I can see myself sitting comfortably on a bike seat is to have the front section completely missing.
Edit because I cross posted with H1ghland3r's edit;
Thanks for the link, a free trial sounds worth a try.
Having had a left side varicocele you'll only get sympathy from me. Sorted with surgery 35 years ago - is that not an option for you Graham?
Edit obviously it is.
No doubt the saddle would help, but have you looked at your shorts/pad? I go for a snug fit (IMO shorts should be reasonably difficult to put on), and my junk is held firmly enough to ensure sitting on them is never a problem, even when doing CX style running mounts.
I always wear lycra when cycling. For short commute rides, I also wear my everyday snug fitting "briefs" type underpants, not loose fitting boxer shorts.
In this weather, I'm wearing lycra tights on top of that as well, so that's three layers of support.
Everything's held firmly in place OK, it's just that there's too much of "everything". 😕

I've got nothing to lose with a free trial, it's just that the nose of the saddle looks a bit wider than normal overall, so if I can't fit down the gap in the middle, I'm going to end up with even less space to hang over the side.
Something like this looks like it would be better for my specific problem.
How would you scratch your arse on long rides, if you have a noseless saddle?
How would you scratch your arse on long rides, if you have a noseless saddle?
You owe me coffee and a keyboard
"My saddles got no nose"
"How does it smell?"
*gets coat*
just use a normal saddle and turn it around?
might work...
good luck - hope the op goes well. Sounds like not an awful lot of fun.
