[Closed] New wheels- anything beat Hope Pro4/Arch Mk4?
Just building up a Cotic Solaris. Have everything except the wheels. Looking for:
Boost
XD driver
29er
Suited to 2.3 tyres
General bimbling around. No jumps, no heavy use (I use the full suspension bike for that).
I can get a set of Hope Pro4 laced with DT Comps to Stans Arch Mk3 from CRC with BC discount for a good price and these seem a decent choice.
Before I click ‘buy’, any reason why not, or any other suggestions?
I have Stans Flow with Hope hubs on my Solaris - but I am 100 kilos in kit and not known for finesse in line choice! So far bomb proof and work well. Assuming you are a little lighter would have thought the Arch would be good choice. Do find Stans rims very easy to set up tubeless as well. Press buy........
There have been a few tales of newer Arch rims splitting. Possibly just too little material left in an effort to chase weight savings.
Can’t fault my Pro 4/Arch mk3 combo had them built up by LBS over a year ago with Sapim d-light spikes and they have been perfect on my T130. Light, tough, stiff laterally but still compliant for a smooth ride and are a breeze to set up tubeless. Genuinely faultless. There’s lighter and blingier wheels but for a good value, reliable wheel set you won’t go wrong with them! Hit buy!
