Well after trying one of those Scott Sl’s and it not ‘lighting my fire’ I decided to take the plunge on the actual frame I wanted. 😀

    Enigma Echo Frame 53TT/48ST
    Easton EC90SL Fork
    Ultegra 6700 groupset
    Campagnolo Chainset
    Ultegra Carbon pedals
    Soul S2.0 Wheels
Easton EC70/EA90 stem Bars and post
    SLR XP Saddle
    Conti GP400s Tyres

Very nice frames , I was about to have one till a bargain merlin came my way.
See a few at work from few regulars and every one loves them

Just needs some more campy 😀

Very nice, but if I’m being picky, I prefer the gloss carbon forks. Looks a pretty sportive (comfortable) set up. Is it a race frame, or does it have a longer headtube?

And obviously you now neeed a new Garmin 500 for proper colour matching (I swapped cases with my 80 for just this reason 😳 ).

    Slam the stem

You can’t have a campagnolo chainset with shimano other bits. Not allowed, you will be burned!! slam stem, new bar tape and either ultegra chainset or preferably ditch all the shimano bits for campagnolo and it’ll be lovely!

Nice. I like the matt look of the easton stuff, esp with the Ti finish.

The stem is just fine as it is. It is probably more Comfort orientated than race, yes.

The Ultegra is stopping for the time being as I’m well and truly skint now.

but next year I send the frame back to Mark/Jim get it modded for Electronic shifting and put some Super record EPS 11 on it. 😉

Will that pass the STW test then? 😆

I have the Ultegra chainset and it looks crap, but it did look OK on the Scott

Very nice. If the ultegra Chainset is a compact I’d be interested in it for my enigma etape? (Email in profile)

Just been talking to Jim at Enigma about another bike, maybe an Elite but just weighing up the options

Righto ChrisA, let me have a think about it.
It is a compact and it’s only done 150 miles.

Very nice, got one of their Ti hardtails but very tempted for one of their steel road frames.

That’s lovely… I take it you just like the saddles fairly back on the rails?

Never let those Ultegra cranks near it again, that’s a crime.

Its 41mm back from the centre of the BB, just as Paul Hewitt set it up.

only if you stop the ufo’s landing on your lawn!

Thats what a 10ft swimming pool does when you leave it on your lawn for a week 🙄

    It’s wrecked the lawn !!!!

Why the big noise over a Shimano/Campag mix?

This roadie scene has some wierd rules. 🙄

Would there be the same uproar with a SRAM/Shimano mix?

Well, while we’re at it – why the long cage mech? 🙂

Personally I like the Ultegra chainset. However the rear mech should be a short cage, that one is way too long. Other than that I like it a lot, tempted by an Enigma myself.

That Enigma looks very nice. 😀 Really kicking myself at going for carbon when now I would love Ti.

Ignore the moaning of others Vortex and have fun! 🙂

it’s a 30t cassette, so I thought I would play it safe and get a med cage

    OP, nice bike.

I hope to be collecting my Excel custom, next week. I’ll be kitting the frame out with Dura Ace, mostly 9000. Still got a few bits to obtain though and I’m considering polishing the frame myself.

saddle does look unusually far back relative to BB (as on all the bikes).
    long femur – I guess.

No idea about this but since Paul Hewitt did a fitting for me on my Carbon Alpine I got for him, those dimensions have been great.

I duplicated them for both the Scott and this new Enigma.

Cheers Neil, got your Wales email, just about to read it.
