Hi all,  Looking at getting a new short travel FS, with the intention of getting back into XC racing. The bike will also be used as my one and only FS , so also trail centres etc etc….

I was looking at getting a Spark 945, however the new LUX, looks awesome and I suspect rides like a dream.

Im currently drawn to the Spark as its about 600 quid cheaper in the sales, plus comes with a dropper already fitted, which I would be looking to add to the Canyon.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on  / experience of the Spark or  Lux.?

    Thanks

same debate myself.  what models are you looking at?  I’m leaning towards the spark as I’ve had a scale for some time and like the brand

The geometry of the Spark is quite a bit more progressive than the Lux. I’d think it would be a more fun bike to ride when you are not racing – i.e. most of the time. Or even all the time if your hopes of racing come to nothing.

It certainly doesn’t hold up Nino Schurter.

This is the sort of bike I’ll be going to in a couple of years when I sell my Hightower. To be honest I’m quite excited at all the choice coming along in that segment. Love the look of the new Epic Evo too!

For a raceable do everything trail bike, in find it hard to imagine that anything could be more capeable than a spark.

Mine did whistker bike park, marathon xc races, sprint tech xc races, even the most tech trail riding around squamish and whistler and it was great everywhere.

700 plus tuned with Factory 34 on raceday and 140mm 36s everywhere else and 29ers only.

This is my experience of my RC – a race bikes thats loads of fun on my local trails and without typical race-like traits.

Thanks all, it looks like the spark is a bit of a no brainier then.

DT78 – im looking at the 945 vs the cheapest Lux model.
