You’re basing this opinion on what exactly? Have you talked to any local cafe or bike shop owners about where their customers come from, and how far they travel? Rob and others are putting a lot of time and personal savings into this and you can bet they’ve done their homework. Not to mention that when they trialled the idea on Park Street they had around 100 people bring their bikes in for servicing in 6 days.
Love the way you also answer your own point about location. You’re right, I can’t imagine a cafe in St Pauls would get as much in the way of passing trade as one in the city centre.
And… can people get over the fact that the coffee is going to be decent quality stuff, from a proper machine and everything? Is this really regarded as something dangerously exotic? Maybe it’s time to bring back the coffee lounge bit of the forum.
