Never done any night riding, missing out on so many potential hours of riding but don't really have the money to spend £200!

Has anyone purchased any cheap lights that have done the job? Riding for an hour or two.

I guess the there's no real need for a bright rear light? couple of cateyes will do, right?

Surely you just can't go wrong with this?

Generic Chinese Cree XML lamp on your lid and a Solar storm X2 XML on the bars is less than £50 from UK retailers and is more than enough. Loads of threads on here for links to tried sellers

I'll go back to been a bitch when its dark outside, it suits me. 😐

The single XML lamps are only about £18 and are good enough for getting out and about with. Much brighter than the dim yellow lamps I once went night riding with

She won't let you buy a light or let you out riding at night in the dark?

New carpet is priority....apparently.

Did my first night ride two weeks ago and used 3 of the Cree lights mentioned above, 2 on the bars and 1 on my helmet and for what I was doing that was probabl a tad OTT. great lights for £18 but not sure how long they will last. Another thing to be aware of is that in a previous thread a member had trouble with the charger.

used 3 of the Cree lights

You reckon you could get away with just the one on the bars and a energizer head torch?

Can but try I guess!

Got a C&B seen light at the end of the summer and its fab:

Has given the other half confidence to ride on the road in the dark - something she never would have done before having this light.

I'm with Pipiom, solar storm bar light and charger for £24 Inc postage from Makiluck on eBay. 3 hour run time but the battery needs to be waterproofed, I wrapped mine in tape. Took 3 weeks to arrive from Hong kong.
