Sorry, it's the day for questions…

So, a friend of mine wants a new bike for pottering about in London. Requirements are hub gears (between 3 and 8), light(ish), flat bars, cheapish, ideally aluminium (she has an inexplicable preference for it). She's pointed out this, which seems unlikely to be light, but is cheapish.

Any better off the peg ideas? (obviously I'm going to encourage her towards my spare InBred frame, but thought I'd try and give sensible suggestions too!)

    Thanks again,

For pottering around in London buy as understated and unbranded as possible, with mudguards and rear rack etc. anything with even the merest hint of mountain bike or fixie will be thieved.

Trek Soho? Not cheap though. Halfords/Carrera Subways seem to be fairly well regarded and much cheaper, and I think there's a hub geared option
