Sat next to LL at a wedding reception a few years back. Tidy but not much more to report.

I have a soft sot for MAH and have since her days doing The Breezeblock Sessions waaaaaay back in the early 00’s. Be nice to her.

same. the Breezeblock was amazing! Back in my music days MAH would occasionally play my tunes out – she was unfailingly nice, friendly and supportive, always replied to emails, and I know plenty others who say the same. In fact probably the whole of the dubstep scene would say they owe her a debt of gratitude.

But yeah she does overdo it on 6 music sometimes 😆

I don’t get the hate for MAH. The Breezeblock entertained me for many an insomnia riddled night and she does a lot to promote great underground artists and genres. She also loves the Deftones and plays them on daytime radio at any opportunity so that’s a big win in my book.

LaLa doesn’t half waffle some nonsense, especially when she’s speaking to/reading stuff from the public. She’s got decent taste though.

Agreed! Exchanged a few emails with her myself. But she’s changed…and not for the better 🙁

She once punched me in the face when kenickie supported the voodoo queens in Manchester a long time ago. I made a very poor attempt at chatting her up.

Always enjoy Huey or Cerys on the weekend mornings, really enjoyed Henry Rollins last couple of weeks. JCC is wonderful to listen to so is Iggy. Thats what I like about 6music the variety.

Not the pretentious thing, but Desert Island Disco is a little bit banging today, isn’t it? 😀

Lauren has got Father John Misty on in a minute. Could be interesting as he was a right knob on Radcliffe and Maconie a few months ago.

[Moyles] is the reason I no longer listen to XFM / Radio X. Oh, him and Vernon “xxxxxxx” Kay.

Not only is Moyles on Radio X, it’s exactly the same show he had on R1. Right down to Dominic and a couple of other hangers on, and “the saviour of Radio X” schtick.

TBH, it’s not too bad. When he first started on R1 he was an aggressive, obnoxious cretin who took every opportunity to have a pop at his colleagues. He’s calmed down a lot now, it borders on entertaining sometimes.

As for Vernon, I quite like him, but his taste in music is bloody woeful.

When is this on? I might send in..

“Hearing Pulps “Common People” brought back fond memories of when I worked for a charity in Malawi helping to bring fresh water to the area. I’m not sure if it was the music, heat exhaustion or simply frustration, but I immediately decided to do something about MY life! I rang my parents and they got me on the next plane home. I now work in a large Hedge Fund in the City earning a 7 figure salary, and I have to say things have improved greatly for me!! Please dedicate this to my friend Charles, who is currently serving 6 years for his part in Libor scandal.”

Hearing Pulp’s Common People takes me back to a moment a few years ago when I was listening to it on my headphones on the way to work. I was working for major highstreet bank earning decent money and generally enjoying my life. However I couldn’t help but notice those less fortunate than myself, huddled in doorways, only a soggy sleeping bag for protection from the savage elements of a London winter. After stopping to chat with some of the homeless guys I passed every day I realised that they’re just people, like you or me. I resolved to do something about the problem. Two years later and I’m currently running my own business designing and installing homeless spikes to stop these filthy wasters taking up valuable public space and cluttering the entrances of upmarket apartment complexes. I thank Pulp for helping me understand that it’s important to be an instrument for positive change.
