Regular backups would've been easier 😳 but..
My 6 year old Dell studio (windows 10) has finally given up. It started with glitches in the display with blue screen crashes and reboots during which I managed to log on in safe mode and copy all my documents except my pictures which it wouldn't let me access the folder. Since then when trying to restart it's deteriorated to a blank screen with a beeping noise (8 at a time) so no access at all.
Whats the way forward to get my files off, I think I'm looking at removing the hard drive and hooking it up with a USB to another computer, but thought I'd try getting some advice first ?
Any help much appreciated.

Correct.

I'd advise you do that. Or if it's a desktop PC there will probably be a spare SATA connector you can use.
Which Studio is it, out of interest?
As you thought, HDD out and a caddy is the way to go.
An Inspiron I think. I must admit I was impressed by it's longevity.
Ah, Studio and Inspiron are different things. (I was curious because I have a Studio myself.)
It might be a Latitude now that I think about it.

Just getting the screwdrivers out, it should be fairly straightforward shouldn't it 😀
