In view of a spate of thefts in our area, thought i'd buy one. Anybody else run into problems with the supplied Rawlbolts?They seemed to be a very tight fit in the holes drilled using the supplied bit, requiring a good tapping to seat them flush, and now I find the bolts aren't long enough to engage in the inserts.Looks like i'm going to need slightly longer bolts, just wondered if this was a common occurence.
I'd always use an anchor that you concrete in, rather than one that's bolted down. Look at squire if you want something that's more robust.
Surely then if the thing is concreted in the weak point is the chain? And a Pro would get through that - It only really stops opportunists?
Think it's pretty robust, and i'd have no doubts about it's security if the bolts actually did their job(countersunk allen heads with a ball bearing hammered into the head).
bolt down ones are fine and most can be fixed to concrete (resin bonded) or brickwork (expanding bolts)
i had one arrive this morning from;

their chains and locks are good but don't lose the keys as i did earlier this year!

Hoping this isn't a ruse to flush out Kryptonite ground anchor owners, as some new and unusual way of beating them has been found using biro's....
Yes I found the holes to be tight, but justious use of a hammer resolved that, I did also find I'd drilled the holes to deep, so the inserts were too far away from the bolts to enage (not sure it this is your problem), managed to get the inserts out and then packed the holes so that the inserts sat level with the floor.
This resolved my problems, and to be fair if you can get under 6 bikes (sat over it) and two locks to work on the ground anchor, your doing well...
Actually fitted a Torc anchor for a mate last week, wasn't too sure about resin fixings but they're looking better in light of what i've just done with the rawlbolts.Looks like i've tapped the threaded insert out of the bottom when tapping them in, on the plus side it meant I was able to remove them without too much aggro.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
