Hi all
More out of curiosity than anything else I have ordered a very cheap carbon saddle from all express.com for the road bike. I'm fully expecting it to be shit but for £5.94 I'm not too bothered.
Anyone have any experiences of similar?
Not the saddles but I've had and still use frames, seatposts, bars, stems and bottle cages on a regular basis without anything bursting into flames or falling apart on the first pothole. As long as the seller rating is good then I have not had a single issue.
Interested to know how you find it, I'd seen a few like that.
I am curious as the picture of the one I ordered looks to be identical to the full price one. How different can two bits of moulded carbon be??
Is it a Selle San Marco knock off? Must say I'd prefer a plain one to a copy.
You have read the thread about the failed seatpost?
TBF for 6 bar it sounds a laugh
It is an SMP copy but there are some plain ones in various shapes.
If I end up impaled on it, I'll post some photos!
Branded or not. Carbon saddle? Future erectile issues? Scar tissue + pressure? Padded saddle ta.
I'm loving all my cheap Chinese carbon goodies 🙂
Champagne taste at lemonade prices !!!!
Come on then op let's have a link
You have read the thread about the failed seatpost?
the "cheap chinese carbon post" thread where 2 people mention having genuine Easton carbon posts fail?

Well my Selle Italia SLR Flow cracked its shell after 6 months and that cost 130 quid!
The name and price dosent always guarantee quality! Oh and they are refusing to even acknowledge my emails / posts of FB etc. Useless company!
As for chicken cycles, dont even get me started, utter shower of ****
I've got one on my road bike. Its meant to be like the San Marco Aspide Superleggera. Didnt really cost a fortune, have a had an Aspide before and got on well with it. Figured if its the same shape it might be ok. Plus it matches the bike nicely. Been riding it a few months and its actually really good. Nice and comfy with my favourite Giordana shorts. Done 50 plus mile rides on it no problem. Was prepared for the the worse, but rather pleased with it.
I have a few of the saddles above, but just plain carbon.
I found it really uncomfortable because it has that ridge along the centre that is suppose to relieve the pressure, but because of that, it means there is no flex at all in the centre like my other carbon saddle which doesn't have a ridge.
So, I decide to just cut out a good chunk of the centre bit, just like the cut out ones you can buy on ebay etc... and the has made the saddle usable.
