OK, so I got my home and contents renewal through from M&S. I thought it was a lot high (£530, up from £450 last year).
So I remembered the thread from this week where someone had checked online, cancelled and saved.
I checked online and it came in at £320, for standard buildings, premium contents, protected NCD etc.
I just phoned M&S, not sure what to expect. The nice person that answered checked with her team leader and said "ok we will match our own online price". £210 saved for the sake of a 10 min phonecall.
Moral of the story? Ring up and check! Also, why do insurance companies have to rip off "loyal" customers by relying on inertia/lazyness?
