    …to fill up the car in the UK or in the Republic of Ireland. Catching the ferry today and I've got half a tank (diesel).

    it's about €1.20/ltr in Ireland right now

    I bet once you take into account the exchange rate and commission on your card etc, there's nothing much in it unless it's a lot cheaper over there or you're buying 1-200 litres
