    Anyone re-cabled or built up a 2014 R3 by any chance…or possibly S3?

Trying to find out if there are internal guides or if I need to get creative…

Confused. 2014 R3 is externally routed (the silver colour frame). OTH the 2015 R3 is internally routed (black frame) and is a doddle. Just remove the plastic plate at the BB and feed the cable into the down tube.

2014 Ultegra (black) is internal, the silver is the 105?

Anyway, if I remove the plate I’m guessing it leaves an opening large enough to not have to worry about picking up the cable?

What about rear brake down the top tube?

I ride a 2015 s3. The tt has routing so just thread the cable in. The down tube is hollow so be careful as it’s easy to cross cables.

    It’s dead easy.

The cable stops near the head tube pop out and the massive insert near the bb pops out meaning that there isn’t too much threading to do.

Cheers Sola, didn’t fancy spending most of my evening poking around trying to find the exit. Will get cracking tonight…

Hoover trick never worked last time I tried.

With the down tube there is plenty of room once you pop off the incerts. I usually remove these and tape the new cable to the old one before pulling the old one out.

1 tape new cable to old and pull though.
2 remove new cable leaving old in the frame.
3 take new cable and thread through lever.
4 re- tape to old cable which is still in the frame.
5 pull old cable back though, dragging the new cable with it.
6 connect to mech and finish job.

    Hope that’ makes sense 🙂
