So after years of miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies and a course of IVF, my nephew was born this morning weighing just shy of 9lbs. \o/

So how long before I can get the new nephew a balance bike?

Brilliant – I love being an auntie.
Our youngest nephew (now 9), has been taught to ride all his bikes by us. We bought him a very small plastic 3 wheeler when he was one and he’s now quite good on his mtb. Looking forward to some good riding next summer when he’ll be just about tall enough to ride my 14″ inbred.

    Congratulations.

I’ve got him a range of dinosaurs and a pirate octopus, wanted to get him a Slayer Babygro, don’t think his mother would go a bundle on it though!

Congratulations! I have just spent Christmas with my first nephew. He is 1 next month. He came very close to getting a balance bike but is going to have to improve his balancing first.
He got a rocking horse instead.

    Slayer babygro?

A babygro with a picture of Slayer on?

    Linky please.

Blimey I read that thread title wrong initially and thought you were declaring that you were a very rude word!!

My son will be one year old tomorrow so a new baby in the family is still a very fresh and fun memory for me.
Enjoy being an Aunty – my son worships his Aunts and Uncles and giggles like crazy whenever they walk into the room – it’s lovely to see.

You could start making a wooden balance bike now.

    Yeah, well that too! 😆

DD, I care for my nephew’s physical well being, I don’t think I’d let him ride around on any shonky nonsense I would construct!
