Does the Hope 30mm spindle bottom bracket use a standard external BB tool to fit?

No, you need a mega exo size (the external diameter of the cups is larger than standard)

No you need a new tool. The OD of the cups of a 30mm external BB is Larger than that of a standard 24mm axle BB.

Hope make a fitting tool but it is not listed on the website yet, from memory of an email a wee while ago it was about a tenner for the tool.

Err did you check my comments on your last thread?
Off-hand my Hope FP46 (internal) BB required a new tool & an adapter to make it work

Though if were talking about these then I think your on the right track (goddam new BB std’s are nightmare), but as per comments above you do need a new tool

I’m using a threaded BB so should be ok with just the tool
