I'd like some new glasses - mainly for road use.

Currently I have three pairs of Bolle sports safety glasses (different lenses colours) but would like something a bit better.

I've been looking at the Uvex Sportstyle 810/710 (no idea what the difference is?) and Oakley Jawbreakers.

I fancy photocromatic lenses so I can have one pair of glasses for all riding conditions.

Any thoughts on the above models or other recommendations.

Thanks.

Thanks for the input.

Do the Oakley get dark enough on sunny days? Some reviews say not - CRC?

Rad8 mtb glasses are worth a look. Both racy and "normal" styles. Only downside (like others I guess) is they don't work when driving.

I found some photochromic Rudy's in the lake district years back. The lenses are amazing, they seem to repair themselves as they still don't seem scratched. I don't like the style but they are still my go to glasses for changeable conditions.
However have just ordered some endura Char's from Evans in their sale as backups, cos I love a bargain!

I have The photochromic lenses in my Radar EV's; superb lenses for Uk riding. They have been ok for riding on Gran Canaria blaring sun ... i convinced they don't go as dark in hot weather though.
In the U.K. They change from clear to almost black; when it's hot on Gran Canaria they only go brownish.

I've got some Rad8 504s. They're generally good but too dark for night mtb riding, think they have a higher max light transmission than the Oakleys as well so worth checking. Fine for autumn drizzle and dark enough of sunny days (for me anyway, don't like super dark glasses). Don't fog up which is ace.

Good company to deal with as well. Had an issue (my fault) and they sorted it quickly and no fuss.

Love my Rad8s. They feel flimsy but aren't. For average bright to evening/overcast they work really well although I prefer full sunglasses that don't change for properly sunny riding.

I have some endura Massai ones which work well. They do two options with one of them going quite dark and the other getting much lighter.

I've got the photochromic jawbreakers and they're fine unless it's actually sunny, and then they're not dark enough for my liking. I find my prizm lenses far more versatile (seem to work well in all but gloom) but am glad of the photochromics for night riding/rotten weather.

Another vote for the Rad8s. They've been perfect the past few weeks for commuting and road riding in the evening. Also wore them yesterday on the MTB and they were fine for the bit of sun i got in the Peaks.

I have a pair of oakleys with the photochromic lenses, they are excellent, so good in fact that you never notice them changing.
They went amazingly dark in canada in the winter, because of the snow being so bright.
Would i buy another pair? Yes, definitely.

I've got the uvex ones and I've been really disappointed with them tbh. They fit a bit loose, but the worst part is how easily they scratch. I've not had them a year and the lenses are completely wrecked they've been relegated to only MTB use now.

I've got oakleys that are 10+ years old and still scratch free.

I plan on getting some Photochromic Radar EVs when funds allow.

Mine are 4yo and scratched to buggary, and i try to look after them. Ive given up photochromics for specifics and just bought some custom colours Sungod Pacebreakers - glasses and 2 lenses at 3/4 price one replacement oakley lense. Raced in the low vis lenses today, bloody awesome clarity no misting.

Have Specialized Transitions that were brilliant but after at least 10 years are a bit scratched. Using Endura now which go very light. Rad8 look good (tried them at an event - if anything they didn't go dark enough but think they do a couple of different ranges of tint. )

Oakley are IMO ugly and very expensive for what they are. Briko always look great value but hard to find them to try out (Planet X had some amazing deals a while back
