I have a Pace RC129 with adjustable dropouts. I normally have the back wheel as far forward as possible and its an awesome ride. Tried it once with the wheel far back (i.e. longer chainstays) and its utter dullsville. Only lasted one ride like that.
It’s taken me 9 months and over 2,000km to get used to lifting the front end on a LLS hardtail. Probably should have changed bars for something higher.
… I have another problem now though, which is keeping the front end down on my short stay XC bike. Of late it feels like it’s going to take off all the time and a wheelie is bloody dangerous.
i am super tall, was using these 45mm from SQLab on my xl Bird, though moved down to the 30mm rise version now which seems to help get weight on the front for corners.
