Got a tiny bit of play in my freehub on my road bike. Shimano RS10 wheels, only a month old. With an 11-28 cassette on their, the 28t has ~1mm play in it.

Is this something to worry about?

28t? are you referring to the sprockets or the hub body that the sprockets slide onto?.

The hub body has play in it. That's just an example of how much the cassette can move from the play in the freehub.

then you need to look at either the bearings having play in them or the axle being bent/broken, does it feel loose/unsecured when the wheel is out of the frame?.
