Hi,

A bit of help please. I saw an ad on Insta a while back, and can't find it again now. It was for little barrel-shaped adaptors which screw onto the bosses of your fork, so that you can attach your lights there instead of the bars, which have less and less space on them these days due to bags/timberbell etc.

Anyone know who is selling these?

Thanks

Yes! My Googling skills were weak on this one. Many thanks.

Interesting. I have an old bleed syringe from Epic with a threaded nozzle. Wouldn't it be nice if it screwed straight into the boss...

I could leave it uncut and go full "Ace"

What a range to choose from; Free flimsy syringe, £6.99 sturdy plastic, or £19.99 aluminium

Ive got the Restrap one and it does exactly what you want it to. Not sure the crank tool part is necessary but useful I guess if you need it.

Why wouldn't you just wrap the band round the fork blade itself? It's never even occurred to me that I needed an item like that.

Around the fork blade, the beam will probably be pointing upwards. These mounts allow a more natural position

Not all lights use a soft band.

Ok, 'proper' lights rather than 'be seen' lights. I wouldn't want them there for various reasons, but fair enough. Probably coloured by having massive plastic beige Ever-ready D-cell lights mounted on my forks back in the day...

Yeah, low mounted night-riding lights would be hellish for long shadows, especially off-road. Certainly wouldn't be my preference.

i put my USE revo on a fork crown mount for one week.

only that one week. it was so bad . the shadows were such that riding offroad was nearly impossible without using my helmet light as well .

it lives on a bar riser extender above my bag now.

I used a selection of Lezyne parts to mount a light to the fork crown of my Kona Rove.
The mount was for E-bike lights. Added a GoPro mount to the bottom of a Lezyne Litedrive and attached to the fork crown. Sits below a bar bag and lights up the road nicely.
The bobbin type I found vulnerable to getting knocked.

Yes, it was the restrap one I had seen. I've ordered two. It's for my commute which is a mixture of bridleway, byway, XC and a tiny stretch of road. If the shadows are an issue, I'll stick the Joystick on my helmet instead.

Will this work? It's designed to go on the quick release so should work on a mudguard / rack mount / cargo cage. Might need a washer? But metal, comes in red and under a fiver so maybe worth a punt

Edit it's £3.70 here. Buy 2.

@pisco

My ebay fork mount linked above arrived this morning. Really nice little thing thats threaded for the bolt. Holds a light nicely.

The only silicone band light I could find was my trusty lidl light. Will take it for a test ride and see if it stays on before I put a better light on and lose it.
