I’m fed up with all the negative theads about various -isms so if you don’t like F1, that’s fine. But please don’t let me know about it.

    http://www.planet-f1.co.uk/driver/18227/7290677/DC-Ferrari-may-yet-ditch-Massa-for-2012

David Coulthard believes Massa could be out of a drive next year, after being a bit crap. It’s only Quagmire’s speculation, but who could replace him?

Paul Di Resta? He sounds Italian.

Alguersuari? Has a Ferrari engine in his Red Cow

Who else? What do you think?

I think it’s a complete non-story made up of a quote embellished to sound more dramatic. Pretty much any driver could be out on their ear – it happened to Kimi after all – and DC just alluded to that.

I hope its Paul Di resta! would be awesome to have 3 top flight brits in F1.

Although hamilton can suck a fat one… what a douche.

@hora – I thought Kimi was destined for Williams?

Paul di Resta has already confirmed for Force India for next year

Perez has long been earmarked for a red seat

Di Resta is showing real promise, but doubt he will move to Ferrari so soon into his career.

The talk is that Raikkonen is coming back to F1 with a drive for Williams. Quite surprised by that to be honest.

I would like to see Hamilton get out of his molly-coddled baby seat at MacLaren and into the Ferrari where he might be treated like an adult with responsibilities, not someone’s little kid that they have nurtured for years.

    Rossi.
    The Ducati is shite!

And he has played in an F1 Ferrari before…

Hamilton to Ferrari with Alonso? No chance, the Spaniard would have a huge strop if that was on the table.

Senna – I’d like to see him in a top flight car to see how close to living up to his name he could get.

Agreed – but that is what I would like to see. He has more chance of being there with Alonso than as a team mate to Massa though 🙂

RedBull then? Surely the mountain biker can’t have another season there?

Still not signed and sealed. I think its something to do with the horrid car Williams have had this year scaring him a bit?…

not someone’s little kid that they have nurtured for years.

That is such a terrible misconception. I suggest you read his roadmap and the different teams/series that LH went through before resigning to Mclaren. It was always a background signing as he still raced in different series/teams BEFORE 2007. His success BEFORE joining F1 was down to his raw talent.

    Stop the crap about him.

Dario Franchitti would be good; but I doubt he could be tempted away from the US

Massa has always carried around a lot of hype IMHO, he’s been long overdue replacement at Ferrari. Who’d take the vacant seat? They might go for a young up and coming driver like Di Resta, Senna or Perez but I can’t see a high profile comeback for Raikkonen there.

But I wouldn’t bet against Hamilton finding a seat there within a couple of years.

I agree on Massa. Hes a sort of Eddie Irvine to me (with obvious parallels when Schu was injured).

LH will be a Ferrari driver one day!

Dario Franchitti – good call. You never know.

Kimi to Ferrari on a one year contract then replaced by LH. Kimi then hopefully returns to his old team…Mclaren to partner Button.

Kimi won’t go back to Ferrari. They paid him $$ Millions $$ to spend a year gardening rather than have him drive.

LH to Ferrari? Nah, he’d more likely go to Mercedes.

Massa offers a lot of advantages, he’s the acknowledged No2 and FIAT sell a lot of cars in Brazil

Reckon Ferrari would like a bit more time to see how good Senna is before giving him a seat – I’m sure they’d consider him in 2013 if performances merit it.

Shall we set out the odds then:

    Senna 3/1
    Alguersuari 5/1
    Di Resta 5/1
    Hamilton 20/1
    Raikkonen 100/1
    Mansell 1,673/1

Personally, I think Hammo’s problems stem from the fact that he started with tremendous support from Ron The Cheat Dennis, his father and others. That all seems to have evaporated, and he’s now being treated as just an employee, same as all other drivers. His support network has disappeared, so he’s now on his own, and clearly struggling. I think other teams will be wary of signing him, despite his undoubted talent, because of his obvious frailties, unless he can show that he’s matured significantly. He’s gone backwards big time this season, and overtaken by Button, which must really screw with his head.

I think it were Jackie Stewart what sed Hammo had won his WC too early. I agree; I think it’s heaped too much pressure on him to achieve, and he can’t quite cope on his own now. Maybe it wooduv bin better had Massa won that year (let’s face it Lewis only won by a fluke), then Lewis would praps be less arrogant and believing he shood be winning all the time. I don’t really think he ‘earned’ his WC tbh, like other drivers have. He’s got the ability, sure, but it was handed on a plate to him, very much.

Mark Webber would be a good call, funnily enough, cos he’s a comitted team player and obviously does not in any way mind being a Number Two driver. Would fit right in at Ferrari. 🙂

Mansell’s arse didn’t fit in a McLaren c1993 IIRC – it’s sure as hell not going to fit a modern F1 car now (though he is cycling these days and maybe a bit slimmer).

Massa has been very poor this season. Fifth is his best result.

Ferrari needs a solid number two not another superstar which rules out Hamilton. Raikonnen is too big a risk. Kubica might work if he was fit but again too big a risk (Massa has arguably never recovered fully from his accident). Mark Webber or Jenson Button would both be excellent choices but they are committed and happy elsewhere.

Di Resta is probably rookie of the season but I can’t see him making the move to Ferrari this early. I think its too early for Perez as well. Not sure if Alguesari is signed for Torro Rosso new year?

Given that the driver market is pretty much sown up Ferrari may just stick with Massa for 2012 and get in early to the driver market for 2013

@ Elfin – that’s quite a good call, but hasn’t Webber re-signed for Red Bull for 2012? Would be good to see him in a Ferrari though.

    [edit]

As for Mansell – arsegate was 1995 in the then new McLaren Mercedes. Mark Blundell put the wider chassis to very good use.

Kubica hasn’t comeback to Renault (who’ve asked for a date when he can test again). Apparently the arm isn’t strong enough 🙁

Perez is already under contract to Ferrari
He tested a Ferrari a few weeks ago
    Sauber take Ferrari engines
    Sauber have another Mexican driver

All adds up to Perez going to Maranello
whether or not it’s next year or 2013, I dunno

I tend to agree with that.

How about Webber to Ferrari and Hamilton to RedBull?

And Button in a new team driving a Corrado VR6.

    Fluke? You sure?

Lets not forget that he couldve won it in his first season too- but a series of unfortunate events meant he lost it by 1 point.

    Thats motor racing!

I’d like to see Dario Franchitti in F1 but I think its similar to Matt Mladin in AMA and not moving to MotoGP, the money and lifestyle over there is so good that he doesn’t have to race in F1.

I don’t think Adrian Newey would be too happy about his cars getting smashed up all the time when Hamilton tries to overtake Vettel…. 😉

Would be a good combo though, woon’t it? 😀

but a series of unfortunate events meant he lost it by 1 point.

What, like his own mistakes, you mean? 😉

    Fluke?

If it wasn’t for his pigging team in China making him stay out on tyres that were down to the canvass he would have won in his first year.

People say ‘ooooo mclaren are this and they gave him the best car etc’ however they have made some almighty cockups. Have you seen Redbull make any pitstop cock ups like the multiple Mclaren ones?

Also when the management changed at Mclaren everything seemed to loosen up abit too much.

i’d like to see lewis in a mercedes, I think Lewis and McLaren are no longer the dream partnership, time to move on. Im fairly certain Lewis wont renew with McLaren, and Mercedes will do a swap for Rosberg.
