    "There's more overtaking in MotoGP"

Aye, that's cos it's relativley easier to overtake in motogp. Give me F1 wheel to wheel late braking into a corner any day of the week.

when does that happen though? maybe a few times a season and you'll never see a few changes of leader on the last lap. F1 is a dreary tech-fest procession IMO

TBH – MotoGP was going down the same route as F1

someone getting out front & staying there – I hope the new system work a bit better & we get back to races like we had in the 500 2 stroke days

    when does that happen though?

The last two races have seen plenty of it.

Personally, I'd like to see a one-shot style of qualifying for the top ten.

Last few laps of Rossi vs Lorenzo @ Catalunya was last years highlight for me.Hopefully more of the same this year

iDave – tell me about Valencia last year
How many times did the lead change?

you'll never see a few changes of leader on the last lap.

Precisely – ever race I've watched seems to follow the same format…

    • 4-5 riders break away from the rest at the start
    • They swap positions endlessly for 20 odd laps
    • Theres a bit of a scrap on the last lap to see which one wins!

    ………..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

    😉

TMM – strange that you find that scenario less interesting than an F1 race? what makes F1 more enjoyable? serious question, honestly can't see how anyone would find MotoGP dull if they like motorsport.

I find the Superbikes far more entertaining these days
as I said – MotoGP has lost a lot in the last 2 or 3 years

    F1 cars sound nicer.

Its the 20odd laps of 'after you, no after you' overtaking I find boring. It seems so easy to overtake it becomes meaningless.

I've tried to like bike racing and have been to a few superbike races but it just doesn't float my boat!

I think the theory is that the overtaking in MotoGP is devalued by virtue of there being so much of it. As evidenced by Valentink sitting on someones wheel for the race just to take them on the final lap.
IMO, F1 needs to be somewhere between present day F1 & MotoGP, ie overtaking difficult, but not impossible unless the lap time differential is greater than 2 secs.

    MotoGP is still awesome though!

i shall watch it but 17 runners in a world championship is a poor show, coupled with the rule that prohibits rookies from riding for works teams and satellite teams not getting the best kit means it's a 3 or at best 4 horse race before it's even started.

I also think that dorna has had to peg back the power of moto 2 to avoid scoring an own goal!
