    can you import excel into google docs, then view it from there?

    Just use the preview function in finder? It displays excel files well. Failing that, Numbers in the AppStore is only £6.99

    Try Open (or Libre) Office, they should be able to open Excel files OK and they cost nowt…

    If you have Gmail, then you have a google account.

    don’t think you need a gmail account – google will just want you to create a login – you might find you already have one if you’ve used other google services
