    Friend bought a Tern GSD from the Electric Cycle Company in December.
    The bike now needs a service but the company is being completely unresponsive and nothing on social media since March.

    Anyone know what’s going on ?

    Company accounts appear to be due – but are not overdue:

    We’re in Stirling and can’t just pop through. Thanks!

    Hi Crispin. A friend of Alisons had exactly this problem. They had her bike for repair for ages and wouldn’t respond to phone calls or emails. One call that did go through he claimed he was waiting for parts- but somehow she found out that parts had never been ordered. She ended up threatening a legal process and going in with a witness to demand the bike back. He then claimed illness. The whole process was very unpleasant.

    That was 2-3 weeks ago. The bike is now Edinburgh Bike-though still not repaired- and still awaiting parts.

    Not sounding hopeful for your friend. On her experience I wouldn’t leave a bike with them.

    Looking at their Facebook it suggests that they identified there was a burn out issue earlier in the year so giving the benifit of doubt I suspect the owner might be having stress issues which doesn’t help your mate but perhaps other things going on behind scenes.

    Plenty of other shops can service it there’s nothing specifically special about a tern gsd that makes it unserviceable by other shops.

    Give mark at pure electric a shout also in Edinburgh

    Thanks everyone.

    Friend is gutted as ECC were very helpful initially.

    Has emailed Edinburgh Bike CoOp and they will service the bike for her.

    @trail_rat Pure Electric announced closures of almost all their stores recently.

    OP – Harts Cyclery in Corstorphine should be able to help.

    @trail_rat

    Pure Electric to close majority of UK stores, full focus now on eScooters

    Hopefully staff find jobs elsewhere. Certainly plenty of demand for mechanics at the moment.
