Tempted by a watch on eBay, but it’s in America.

Seems legit, but then that’s no guarantee. Simple question, where do I stand on buyer protection in respect of fakes ?

I’ve factored in a few quid for an immediate valuation from an authorised dealer, but am I still covered for a dud if bought from abroad?

    Bit wary. Very in fact!

Seriously though – I think (and don’t hold me to it) that you are buyer protected with ebay / paypal worldwide.

Issue is, can you enforce it though.

Can you get the seller to confirm in writing that its a good ‘un? Would help any claim later perhaps.

eBay really don’t seem to want fakers on their site so I think you’d get some help from them.

If you’re buying from the US then it’s their laws that are applies, us your credit card to pay then you can claim through that if there are any issues.
Have you factored in the duty charges etc?
