Dyson outlet

So, ignoring Dyson the man, has anyone in here vet bought anything from the Dyson outlet store?

I’m looking at a new cordless vacuum and was wondering what sort of condition the refurbished units they sell typically ship in and if it’s worth losing some of the new warranty to save £70 or so on a V10 absolute.

Alternatively feel free to tell me I may as well be trying to clean the floor by sucking through a straw.

New battery is £70. I got a new one under warranty after 8 months.

Yep bought a cordless animal vac from the online outlet for parents and it looked as new.

Ours was as new. It was cheap enough that we went for the extra fancy head for hard floors but I don’t think we’ve ever used that. Great bit of kit. I don’t thing we’ve used the upright since getting it (cougar, inset joke here). Its a much better way to clean. Still have a henry for the workshop and building mess, though.

We have had three from their outlet on ebay, corded for me and my daughter and a cordless for the camper. All have stated refurbished but they have all looked brand new with unopened boxes. Managed to buy them when ebay have been giving discounts with ebay codes so got further reductions.

Same, although I recently started using the correct head for hard floors and it’s even better.

Got a cordless from the outlet that looked as new – but it was dead on arrival.

Got a replacement quickly (and they refunded my train fare for inconvenience).

Since then no problems – although the normal head died after 2.5 years.

I got a V6 cordless one from their outlet 4 years ago, looked new when it arrived, worked fine ever since. I also combined it with a 20% ebay voucher thing.

Doesn’t seem to like building/DIY rubble and dust (clogs up filter), so we still use Henry for that.

Thanks for all the feedback. We’ve currently got a Henry which has been doing Stirling service for at least ten years now, so guess that fits well with everyone else here. Hopefully the smaller v10 will actually mean the floors get cleaned a bit more often now and Henry can settle down for a quiete life.

We got a V8 from the outlet, and as everyone else out looked new.

Great for just quickly tidying up and very handy for doing the car too. We vacuum a lot more often due to its ease of use.

building/DIY rubble and dust (clogs up filter)

Stupidly sold the old vacuum before we did building work. The plaster dust clogged up the filter pretty quickly so bought a spare so we could be washing/drying one filter while the other was in use. It also made a bit of a mess of the normal head, but otherwise it’s all doing well now it’s been retired to a normal life.

Just one last update; the V10 absolute was ordered from the ebay outlet late on Monday and turned up yesterday. Everything in the box looked brand new and, after a very limited test run downstairs, seems to be working as intended.

Henry is now off to the cellar.

Why bother when Gumtree is flooded with £30 Dyson vacuums as everyone spends daft money on cordless?

Cordless Dyson brilliant for regular cleaning. Any Dyson is poor for chunky stuff and fine dust. They choke or their filters clog.

Rarely use our corded DC50 now. Easier to run upstairs, grab the cordless and relevant accessory, and clean up.

Dyson robot? When it’s good it’s very good. When it’s bad 😂🤣😂. If Dyson planned to use the same AI thinking for any autonomy in their electric car the results would have been hilarious. Sometimes it’ll clean the whole floor nicely. Other times it’ll do half the room, carefully missing the other half by observing some imaginary border. like other Dysons it chokes on anything vaguely chunky. <span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>The robot helpfully tells you when its airway is blocked. This happens on about 60% of cleans. Still, it does turn out every morning to give things a go. Much more regular cleaning than I’d bother with. </span>
