I have moved back to the Wirral recently due to work related guff. Use North Wales when i can but it is an hour-ish away. would like to look for anything a bit closer to home. I've been in and around Thursaston Common which is good fun...it's what you make of it really. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Or if anybody fancies hooking up and showing me the ropes. Cheers.

Quite a few on here living on the Wirral (I'm in Oxton), was a thread a while back with some route ideas and even talk of a meet up one evening.

I've had a little play up on Thurstaston common and there are a few bridleways that can be used, nothing too interesting but think you could string together something that had mostly off road for an evenings blast.

That would be great i'm desperate to get out somewhere else closer to home. I'm in Heswall. Have had a look around on the net and haven't been particularly inspired by anybodies routes so far but then i haven't tried any of them

Thurstaston has a couple of routes that i use 'out of hours' so as to avoid unhappy walkers. Either pre 8 o'clock or around dinner time. It's all footpath pretty much but there are a couple of loops with some technical stuff. I can do all the good routes in about an hour and 15 if that's anything to go by.

In barnston, lets get this evening ride sorted!

Some ok rides linking up bits and pieces but some of it quite cheeky. For my commute its through barnston dales, behind bassett hound, bit of road (between basset hound and landican lane), down landican lane, take the cycle route and follow to storeton village, through sroreton woods to brackenwood........then unfortunately road to the ferry. Some mornings its down to parkgate to wirral way and ride to ferry - all 'off road' but alot on concrete.

As you said thurstaston common/ royden park good for a laugh out of hours. Wirral Way. Few footpaths behind pensby that take you to irby and bridleway to Irby Mill where you can pick up Royden park. Few footpaths off wirral way around heswall dungeouns, Arrowe park can link up a few places. Leverhume manor around thornton hough has a few cheeky ones for the quieter times. North Wales though for the more fun stuff!

So then Wirral riders, shall we??
