Just look better with CX tyres over road tyres. That's all.

Look better with matching seatposts and stems. And look better without mudguards

Not sure what's going on with that steerer tube either, something doesn't look right.

Silver post is maverick, steerer setup for commute comfort!

Is that a mudguard on the back?

Those who are on thin ice, shouldn't throw stones, Sonny Jim.

Agree but white just looks grub after a few weeks of muddy commutes.

Recognise that! About time I resurrect that one, put flat bars on & that's as far as I got.

whereas the white saddle will stay immaculate? Looks like you nicked a saddle and seatpost to rush-finish the bike off. Black seatpost, black saddle, or stand in a corner and have a word with yourself.

And set the wheels with valves at 6 o'clock, and drive side crank arm in line with seat tube before taking picture.

Amateurs 🙄

But I do agree with your original proposition.

What are those Schwalbe CX tyres like commute wise?

Last year I was happy with a set of wired Razes but I can't find anymore and folding seemed a bit extravagant for commuter fare.

I ran 28mm Conti GP's through the warmer months and just switched to Race X's which I find want to kill me on hard wet surfaces... I've actually been seriously considering sticking GP's back on as in all honesty while my commute gets plenty muddy it's not exactly HTN... 😉

.....more concerned about your garden furniture - did Ned Kelly knock that seat up?

Nice looking bike - what's the stem?

First commute on the Schwalbe CX tyres this morning & seem fine, be at a tad draggy. Will let you know what they are like off road. Stem on the fixie bike is a cheap Ritchey logic number.
Found that bike in a skip, originally a Genesis in gold lacquer. Quite fun building it up. Needs a funky 'skip' graphic for the down tube!

My Boardman. I hated this bike but with new carbon rims, tubs, a headset that doesn't work loose every ride, and a new 1x 11 drive train it's transformed. Gets raced every week...
