just got a couple of cheap Cree lights for the kids and they came with head mount/straps.

Do people just hack the straps off and use zip ties or do people use those velcro straps?

me and my mate took off the straps it came with and secured them to the helmet with cable ties. does the job fine. I prefer to cable the battery to the back of the helmet whereas my mate prefers to have the battery in his camelbak.
