    Whats the point of using them when they turn up so completely covered in selotape you have absolutely no chance of recycling them or indeed composting it.

    Peel off all the tape then you can recycle twice.

    Double the satisfaction.

    You can get biodegradable tape too, it’s corn starch-based but expensive. It has a matte finish to it so easy to spot. There’s also the paper-based packing tape that Amazon uses, you can deride then all you want but they do use fully recyclable packaging if goods come from their warehouse.

    No-one else uses it though so if you want that to change out pressure on the companies that sell you the stuff you have delivered.

    Doesn’t most compostable packaging just have a preglued strip to seal it down or is heat sealed?

    The thing that grinds with me is compostable cutlery and plates…and the only bin is the standard mixed waste that’s going to be incinerated or buried, neither of which is the intended destination of compostable items.
