    Since there are lots of wood workers here I hope wca doesn’t mind if I say this here.
    I’ve currently got 7 rings from an oak tree trunk, 36″ diameter including the bark, cut about 4-5″ thick. It’s green so absurdly heavy and will likely split as it dries but before I turn it into firewood I thought I’d offer them here. If someone wants to try and make something from them, and can collect from South East London, let me know.

    The finish you’ve got on the cut looks pretty clean,

    The clean cut is after the thicknesser. It was going to take about 15 minutes per length with the band saw so just switched to hand saw to cut the rest

    Don’t have a lathe (yet) but will probably be upgrading my table saw and bandsaw before I do. Table saw it okay at cutting but the fence won’t stay parallel and it is hard to get a good parallel cut without that

    Worth the effort. I still can’t believe what you paid for that.
    I paid a huge amount for some English oak last year and that was cheaper than I expected.
