Car tyre dressing

I bought a used Islabike Creig 24 at the weekend.

Sadly the seller thought it would be a good idea to cover the whole bike in tyre dressing, that back-to-black stuff or something similar. It was dripping off every surface on the bike – the tyres, the frame, the grips…my hands were wet after touching it.
I gave it a good clean when i got home, using plenty of Mucoff and have got it off the hard surfaces*, but I cannot get it off the tyres, which are a weird shiny.

Anyone know of a substance that will get this off?

*I had quite a good go at the brake pads and rotors but have not been able to achieve any bite on the rear. I fear they are beyond saving. Front seems ok after vigorous sanding of pads.

Maybe Isopropyl alcohol?

IPA or fire.
IPA , then beat detergent. Repeat.

Most of the tyre dressing products I’ve seen recommend white spirit for removing excess. Always worth trying isopropyl on pretty much anything though.

(aside but, I am in love with Mannol montage brake cleaner, comes in a big can and costs basically nothing)

If it’s on the tread then I would be fitting new tyres, you may get it off the surface but it seeps into the rubber so will be lethal in the wet. There’s a reason they put a warning on the bottles and cans saying not to put on the tread and not to use it on motorbikes.

It’s been sprayed over the whole of the tyre.

If it might have somehow soaked in and compromised the rubber permanently, then maybe new tyres is the best solution.

I’ve just bought the older boy a pair of 24inch Schwalbe Black Jacks, which seem decent.
