I’ve recently acquired a 2015 cane creek dbair cs. Going though the usual set-up after sag, I was finding the extremes of the high/low speed compression/rebound. When I attempted to find the lowest setting of the high speed compression circuit oil started leaking from the adjuster ‘screw’. The manual states not to over torque the adjusters but there appears to be no resistance or clicks on the high speed circuit (compression or rebound). Is this normal?

Yup it was pretty clear that was the case, just concerned about doing it again when around the lower side of the adjustment. Also concerned about the adjuster being worn or damaged if there’s meant to be clicks present when adjusting? I guess that loss of oil (maybe 0.3ml) isn’t going to introduce harmful amounts of air into the circuit?

No clicks on the HSC or HSR adjusters. You set them by counting the amount of turns.

Nice one, thanks a lot, just what I was looking for. I’ll keep a closer eye on it next time.

Has it lost one of the little retainer spring clip things? They sit inside each of the threaded adjuster screw holes and should stop you from unscrewing them too far. (Search google images or the CC website if you need to check what they look like) It really shouldn’t leak oil unless those are missing – perhaps yours has pinged off across the previous owner’s garage?

The DBA CS shock doesn’t have retaining clips for the adjusters like a Inline does.

Ah right, sorry! Should have looked at those pictures a bit closer, you’re quite right, ignore me…
