If I set my work phone (O2) to divert calls to my personal phone (Vodafone) will this ever cost me anything, i.e. from Vodafone. I don't care if O2 charge work obviously.

The forwarding phone will be charged as it's making another outbound call.

I'm not aware of any situation in the UK where you can be charged to receive a call, foreign SIMs roaming here aside.

BT also make a charge for setting up the service in the first instance - £5 or something/quarter.

worth noting..
understanding how the call will be diverted and how it will appear ro the caller are important..I have all my landline calls diverted to my mobile.. costs vary per landline supplier but service varies more.. eg sky lets the landline ring for 20 seconds tha line goes 'dead than the mobile rings.. not a great experince for the caller bt on the other hand mobile rings immediately but landline never rings.. ideally i'd like a service where both ring simultaneosy and would pay handsomely for it but no one can provide it?
