I wonder what proportion of stw posters will be prosecuted…

but it’s ok, politicians assure us it won’t be used in an unreasonable way.

STW’s favourite Monbiot wrote an interesting article on this: here.[/url]

How annoying do you think we are talking about – say using TJ as a benchmark? Twice as annoying or a bit less?

You don’t actual have to be annoying, just ‘threaten to be’.

which is a fairly low benchmark and one which few of us could claim never to have achieved.

And this from the coalition that was ‘commited to restoring our freedoms’…

In other news, voters will now have to show proof of ID before casting their ballot. It’s the time tunnel… time tunnel… time tunnel… and we’re back in 2003!

    using TJ as a benchmark

Nah, but that could be the unit of measure?

I know it’s meant in jest, but can we not mock those who don’t have the right to reply, please? No fair.

‘our’ rather than ‘everyone’s’ though. The coalition are very fond of the phrase ‘we’re on the side of…….’

Posting on any thread about how boring you find the topic of that thread?

I’m sorry sir but you have registered at 14 TJs

That’s like 3 infinities. 14 TJs is more annoyance than the universe can muster. 8 is the theoretical max, but even in controlled experiments nobody has ever managed to exceed 5.

    Except the eponymous.

The entire bill or that individual clause?

I’m sure that it will return in an amended form.

It’s not over ’till it’s over.

“MPs could seek to reinsert the proposal in the bill when it returns to the Commons.

After debate on the report stage of the bill, the legislation still has to go through its third reading in the House of Lords.

The House of Commons will then consider any amendments made by the Lords before the bill can be sent for Royal Assent – when the Queen signs bills into law.”

And if all else fails the Parliament Act could be invoked…

TandemJeremy » This is actually rather amusing to me. I particularly like the “TJ” as a unit of annoyance.

I find it surprising how often I still get mentioned on STW. I browse now and then when bored. Its a funny peculiar legacy to leave behind.
TJ – proud to be remembered as mostly annoying.
I believe that’s at least 2 on the surfmatt awesomeness scale
