I'm thinking of getting a trailer to take my little girl out on rides in the summer. By then, I will be riding a Cotic Solaris (roll on February :D)

The only issue I thought about is clearance between the bigger bike wheel and the bar that connects the trailer to the bike, and the actual body of the tralier. Some of the instructions for these trailers state for use with bikes with 26 -28" wheels

Anyone use one with a 29er?
Cheers

Based on what I know with cargo trailers this will be an issue. You will need a longer hitch/arm to get this to work.

Cheers Mark, thats what I thought. Will probably have to email some trailer manufacturers to see what they say.

I've used a trailer and a tag along bike on an inbred/scandal 29er without issue.

I have one of these.

Never had a problem with any bike, I use either a 26" MTB with big tyres or my 700c Kaffenback with 28mm tyres. It's miles away from the back of the bike. Very similar to firestarters above.

Croozer on my road bike with full mudguards - tons of clearance on it.

Our Chariot Cougar runs just fine on my Cross bike with big tyres and mudguards.

The nipper's still pretty small so we haven't taken it off road yet and it hasn't been hitched up to the 29er but I can't see it being a problem, there's loads of room.

Burley + Niner = just fine.
Schwinn tag along + Niner = needed to mount higher up seatpost.

Different trailers fasten in different ways and have different length arms. Mine worked on my hybrid commuter but not on the 29er with bigger tyres. You just have to try for your bike.

my halfords sold trailer works just fine on my 29er, the only thing is i find that i cant stop the QR attachment moving on the drop out thus taking my paint off 🙁 despite cranking the qe eight up

Scandal 29er here, no problems.
However, I can't use it on my 26" HT, which has cowled dropouts - as does the Solaris. The 'hitch' needs a flat to sit against.

Used to commute with a trailer, dont know the make, was from germany on Ebay. Very light alloy one. Used a road bike but pic below shows there would be plenty of room for slightly larger wheel on a 29er.
(Yes, those are original coaster brake Skyways...) 🙂
((And the sleeping child was a regular occurence on the commute also)).
