Molgrips you must have the 08 XCL Patriot

I've got a 2009 5 and in order to get full travel I seem to need to set up the RP23 with at least 40% sag. Is this normal ? How can I get full travel with less sag ? Same problem on the fork, a 2010 float rlc. I'm 9 stone 10 by the way.

well, maybe according to the experts i run my rp23 far too hard. setup for about 20-25% sag @ ~200psi for a 12 stone rider. it's an '08 rp23 with the light compression tune. i did gauge how far down the shock the o-ring got with no air on board at all. i get the o-ring down to the same spot most times i ride it. i was using all the travel at the last uplift day i did on it anyway.

    Grantway – 2007 XCEL in fact 🙂

Drome – set the sag to where you want the sag to be to get the handling you want. It has pretty big effect on handling. It won't bottom out the shock hard if you run 40% sag – you don't really notice it.
