They’re taking out a £231m loan to complete it which will attract £228m in interest over 30 years.

Who’s going to pay for this, I wonder?

I think it’s hilarious that I can get a train from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport, but cant get one to either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airports.

    CFH – edinburgh council taxpayers.

SBZ – its tragedy – especially as there are train tracks actually across Edinburgh airport

Scotlandshire wanted them, and it also wants its own governmnet , so it has now got a huge debt, for a fancy tram set, that they destroyed years ago.

Government funding was capped when the SNP got in last time. The increased costs will all be borne by Edinburgh Council Tax payers.

Isn’t this just the most recent estimate?

Still loads more to do and a high probability of it costing even more!

You don’t expect us to believe that do you ?

I’m with Flashheart on this, despite what the article says, I suspect as usual it will probably be decent hard-working southern folk, such as the residents of Royal Tunbridge Wells, who will be paying for extravagant exercise in “public” transport.

I doubt whether most people in Edinburgh even earn enough money to pay sufficient taxes to cover the costs of this preposterous idea.

    😐
