    OK, quite enjoying Public Service Broadcastings new album.
    So in addition to DJ Shadow, Deckwrecka, etc
    Thoughts on some similar albums with film / TV samples?
    Thanks

    Not my specialist subject, but I’ve always liked;

    unkle – you might have included that already in DJ Shadow. Psyence Fiction and Never, Never Land are the best imo. I thought the others were a bit meh.

    Burial’s stuff is pretty much entirely made from samples.

    Four Tet/Percussions fits the bill also, along with Madlib.

    In terms of albums, UFOrb by The Orb is littered with samples.

    Eat Static are also worth checking out

    Megatop Phoenix by Big Audio Dynamite, an underrated classic album.

    ANYTHING by Big Audio Dynamite. A very underrated band all round. Listen to them and you hear where so many other bands got their sound from.

    I know they are old school, but in my mind you can’t beat a bit of Carter USM.

    Cold cut were rather adept with a sampler and if you like Kung Fu films then Depth Charge is/was excellent. For film samples UNKLE edit music for a film is really good as well.
