There again probably not. I think I’ve had too long off work.

    Pedals first, beer second.

I’ve tried this. It doesn’t work. You just end up standing in the middle of the road cleaning up broken glass. With no beer.

You could end up with a variation on this…..

A team of us raced a trailquest event with bottles of Newcastle Brown in the cages a few years ago.

bottles didn’t break but I wouldn’t recommend opening them too soon after you’ve stopped 😉

It works with bottles of wine but that was a road bike.

    A great idea!

I can recommend steel cages (stainless if you like). You can put a little more spring load into them so they secure the bottle better.

I can also recommend a hip flask cage for the more weight conscious booze hounds.

Or a nice chilled Sauvignon Blanc in an insulated bladder – the Source ones have a fancy coating so there’s no plastic tastes and the flavours of different drinks don’t stick around – so less of a problem if you don’t find the same vintage at your next stop.

There are quicker and better ways to dispose of that ratpiss, OP. Down the drain is best.

This wasn’t one of my best ideas, though it didn’t fall out!

I can vouch that it works with red wine, i do it when ever i’m away on the touring bike. Always a good idea after getting the tent up.

Still wine or spirits off road.

Beer, champagne etc gets too shaken to open safely.

Mate of mine filled his camelback with some cider. He swore it was the fastest he’d ever ridden and just seemed to go faster the longer the ride. I think the effects were similar to the kebab shop run after the pub.

Mind you he did do a swan dive down a bank near the end but all was good 🙂

That Magners really is shockingly awful, whoever drinks that chemical cocktail must have had their taste buds removed surgically.
