I’ll message it to each of dangeourbrain,

Done thank you - I notice it links to an 18.15 start. I've also removed my self from the 18.30 so I don't get auto switched mod race!
That's good and I should definitely make that unless something goes badly wrong.

Been having issues with the Core due to my terrible pedalling "style" and my current 94kg weight.

It sways too much to the right as the turbo is mounted right of centre on the leg.

So... Ordered some 40mm steel tube to lengthen the front leg. I'll be shortening it (on the left) but this is just the initial fitment. So far so good, much more stable. Easy enough to do with a drill and file.

Sorry about the carpet/ mess.... but I'm sure you'll see the steel tube in there somewhere.😁

It's not too subtle!

How did you find the race earlier @Poopscoop - it didn't seem to be working that well with "open" roads, no timings etc etc?

^^ Was it what's called a "blind" race as you can't see anyone else's data/name, W/kg, cat etc etc.

It was odd and I wasn't even sure if I was racing against people in the actual race or random riders! Lol

Got a bronze in D, I was nearly 20 seconds behind you Dobski!😆

I didn't know "blind races" were a thing - I didn't like it whatever it was!

Racing-wise I had a mare - I wasn't feeling great all day but I did the first lap right up at the front then started to fade really badly, didn't want to empty the tank ahead of tomorrow's TTT so ended up solo-ing most of the second lap cadging drafts when people came past but not going too deep.

My first lap was PR after PR but inc my second lap my total average power was roughly 25% down on a normal race and I needed a proper lie down.

Great result for a podium though - I knew you were bluffing on the startline. 😉

Bluffing! I wish.lol

I was just desperately trying to stay in the draft of anyone really. Not even knowing if they were in the race or what.lol

Not sure I like this format, as you say.

I managed a cursory sprint to the line but the people I was staying with/overtaking/being over taken by.... I'm not even sure if they were in the race with us! Lol😆

Most odd.

So er, Bikes.

I could have sworn a while ago there was a Venge, and a Venge S Works.   I bought the Venge S Works with my drops.   This now appears to be a "Venge" and "Venge S Works disc".   My bike still has S Works on the downtube.

Whats fastest? And do I still have an S Works - I think yes - or have I defaulted to a standard Venge?

What level are you at Kryton? The fast venge s works is about level 33 I think, that is the fastest bike in zwift with the right wheels.

The normal venge is a much lower level at 18, I have that one, it's still fairly fast, I think 2nd or 3rd fastest under level 30. It does still say s works on the tube though....go figure 🙂

Not sure about the disc version, I'm guessing that's the wheels, if so it will be fast as the disc wheels are fastest on the flat.

I just ride the Tron all the time, pretty fast for all scenarios, plus it looks rad. Can't be arsed with constant faffing about swapping just to shave off a second here or there!!

34.  I couldn't buy this bike until 33, which I did.  I'm riding it with Zipp 454's which overall is the fastest "all round" combo on Zwift I think.

Its odd, it feels as though they've change it.

I don't swap bikes either.

out of those 2 bikes then, the S Works disc is faster. Pretty easy to tell which one you have, does it have discs? 😃 The non-disc S Works is not one of the faster bikes.

I think you will still be on the fast s works then, I can't see why it would change.

I agree that swapping for a few seconds makes no sense, only if it makes a significant difference. I do have a climbing set up and a flat setup I swap between. When I eventually get a tron I won't be swapping either....but I'm miles off still.

Ahh disc brakes not disc wheels...pretty obvious if you have it or not then.

I tried that when I first starting Zwifting but more often than not I'd forget and then within 5s of starting the next race I'd realise I was on the wrong bike 😂 Tron doesn't actually take that long if you concentrate on hilly races & session the Alpe a few times... still never got those bloody wheels though!! 😭

I've got the Tron but not ended up using it that much, the whole "if you're on the hoods, you're in the draft" thing is too useful for me as keeps me from yoyo-ing off the front too much

https://zwiftinsider.com/charts-frames/

I'm level 29...
On big climbs I usually use Tarmac Pro and Enve 3.4
In TTs I use P5 and usually Zipp 808
On rolling courses usually the Tron, or maybe the S5 with Zipp 454

I think you're misunderstanding me.

Zilog6128 - the image in that article shows the Venge with disc brakes, but the price is that of the Venge S Works with Rim brakes, which is what I purchased.   If you have a look at the drop shop now;

a) The standard level 18 Venge seems to have gone

b) The "Venge" seems to have replaced the "Venge S Works" rim brakes at level 33

c) The "Venge disc" also at level 33 is more expensive than the rim brake version at over 900,000 drops.

So there seems to be a re-alignment.

In this new shop, the Venge & Venge disc have the same scores/stars but I'm not sure if the change in drops pricing represent performance - or like in the real world - its just more expensive because it has disc brakes on it.

Good TT bike / wheels is meant to make a decent difference is it not on tempus? Heard it was more like 20secs but no experience myself.

Look at the charts linked above, as Weeksy says we are talking seconds here.

Climbing bike vs flat bike is one thing and makes sense to change depending on route...but disc bike vs rims, I don't think it will save much. If you are that bothered then buy both 😉

nope, I have the Venge (rim brakes) @ lvl 18 and Venge S-Works (discs) @ lvl 33 in my drop shop. Latest version on iOS (literally updated just now to check!)

I only have 2 options when I look, the standard venge which I already own, or the s works version which clearly shows discs at 900,000 drops level 33

Edit - beaten by Zilog but same result

Damn, that is a trivial difference, more like 1 or 2 seconds on 1 lap of TF. Thought it would be higher.

As an aside, anyone run Zwift on a big telly/monitor? Currently use my iPad Pro, fairly small screen but really immersive once you're in the zone! Thinking about getting a big, cheap 4K telly (LG, Hisense, etc) since the price has come down loads, and there's a nice 20% Currys eBay voucher at the moment 😃

Does it actually make Zwift better though, and how big is too big?! Could also be used when partner does her virtual Les Mills, and as general garage telly!!

@weeksy - are you still able to jump in for the TTT as a B this evening? My day is rapidly going to poo so I'm either working until I finish this evening or going to have to head back into the office tonight after the race.

Not "big" by modern standards, but I finally got around to playing Zwift last week on this gaming PC I'm on right now with our ~11 years old LG 32LH3000 32" HD TV, was great compared to the usual Surface Pro 4 (also 1080p) and immense compared to the emergancy Android app on my Xiaomi Mi A2! 😆

Well, thats what I can see now, but I'm sure that  wasn't the case.  Anyway, I had 6.8m drop to spend so upgrading wasn't a problem.

I bought a 2nd hand Dell 21" all in one which sits on a bench in front of my front wheel, having that size of monitor really helps the experience.  I was coming from a 11" laptop.

TTT Premier League final details:

Our start delay is 1 minute, so we are off at 6.16pm. Phil can you handle stopwatching?
The usual discord channel for comms
Interested spectators might catch a glimpse of the STW team on the Zwift Community Live stream here:

Tonight's line up is:
phil56
tiger6791

I can't ride tonight (aarrggh I've known this since this morning), so I can't sign off with "see you in the pen" - but I've sent some bios over to the organisers, and I'll try and catch the stream on my phone.

Good luck lads, enjoy your moment!
