Never slowed zilog!!!!!
😂 yeah a message popped up saying my power had been ratcheted back, couldn't really tell though - it certainly didn't feel like I was riding through treacle or anything!!

Another stupid turbo question. Having fitted a turbo tyre it’s a lot easier to pedal versus the standard tyre I had on, why? Also should a flat wear pattern develop on the turbo so quickly? How close to the roller should it be contact wise? There is a flat spot I need fixing on my wheel but bike shops aren’t open til next week. It’s only been on for 1.5 sessions of some HIIT sessions. It’s a Schawlbe Insider.
Thanks

My Tacx blue did this almost instantly and then never got much worse

Just tight enough so that it doesn’t slip when you chuck the power down. Turbo tyre should slip less

Not sure if you're all registered members so I'll post here quickly but it looks like THE days of the TTT events from WTRL might be numbered.

There's a spat with ZP over data use, WTRL have sent a mail this morning to ask people to confirm they're happy for them to use their zwift power data. Reading between the lines it sounds like WTRL have been using the ZP data on the basis of their own privacy policy and the clause in ZP's about handing the data to third parties without agreeing that usage with ZP.

I can't see it working out in their favour of that's the case but, any who, if you're keen to give them what chance of success they have you'll need to sign up to WTRL and I imagine you'll get the same "please confirm its OK for us to use your zp data".

The email from WTRL suggested its a spat with the zwift legal team rather than ZP. Another example of zwift shooting itself in the foot! Pretty much all race organisers transfer data off ZP to host results pages, especially when they run a series with different rules.

Anyway you need to create a profile on wtrl and complete the data transfer statement.

I'd like to think it's more another case of the law is an ass. The legal obligations around data these days make a lot of this sort of thing very difficult.

zwift legal team rather

Rereading that you're right, which makes me think their chances are even slimmer - if zwift own the data ZP can't just hand it off.

You only get 0.1 W/Kg allowance over categories since 1st May iirc.

No issue for me, I won't be threatening 4.2W/Kg+ anytime soon, I've lost ~15W and gained 1.5Kg+ since my best effort before infection!

hopefully they'll be able to use the data where people have confirmed it's OK, and just ignore/delete data from teams who don't. So make sure all STW members do it!! 😃

Did my first ramp test since december and my FTP has gone from 229 to 259, pretty pleased about that! On zwift at the moment I'm doing a mix of the Tour for All rides and then ticking off route badges inbetween. I did the Fondo training plan last month and it was good, although towards the end I was really just wanting to free ride for a bit!

Good effort, I know the ramp tests can be pretty daunting even if you're using Zwift a decent amount

What is your TTT name and i will look out for you? I am in the DIRT diggler team which is in the Frappe class but we ride in the morning.
Make sure you have all signed the data consent form on wtrl website, they had a threatening lawyers letter from Zwift about data protection.

We're the imaginatively titled STW

So who's def in then?

Based on the pen think we've got

    Phil56 - B - 310
    Ivan Dobski - C -284
    Ant Mooman - B - 283
    Kelvinshuffle - A - 281
    Brian Dangeourbrain - B - 279
    Zilog - C - 241
    Savoyad - C - 235

(Numbers from ZP snooping)

Any more Weeksy/MagnetoDog/DK/Others?

Debating whether to jump on the 14:35 Crit race, in B today so i can race within Cat.... which obviously means 3000 place for me LOL.. but needs must.

Was out yesterday and really pleased with how the fitness is, both from power, pace and recovery, really do feel like i'm very much at my best currently.

Well it wasn't terrible... https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=753858

29/42. But could be argued it should have been more.... Last time out i went too deep too hard, too early in B. So today i picked a max and stuck to it really.... but it dropped me arguably a group behind the one i ought to have been in. But it's all a learning curve jumping up a Cat, so i sat where i thought would be 'right' but was possibly a bit too easy and safe.
That said, i'm not sure the legs had flat out in them today anyway, so i went with what i had and that's where i ended up 🙂

Decent race and arugably better than my last one in B as i was in the mix (for 6,000,000th place) for the whole race, whereas last time was 'flat out, die, hang on, flat out, die, try not to drop to the next group,' and repeat 3 times as i ploughed my way back through the bunch. Today i finished higher than i was after lap1.

Nice work Weeksy, from my limited experience on the Crit City courses feels like it's all about small margins, if you slightly over or under cook it there's no coming back. And who else ends up in the same group has a big impact as well.

I had a rare day off yesterday as I'd been keeping a bit lockdown exercise streak. Assumed that'd put me in a really strong place for a ITT at Fuego Flats today. Had a mechanical 500m from the finish line but really wasn't happy with how it'd gone prior to that.

Not sure if it was just an off day but I really couldn't put out the same wattage on the flat I've been managing on hillier courses recently.

Was initially in a bit of a strop about it but looked back at some older results, which reminded how far I've come in six months and to stop being such a numpty.

Got the rage.

Saw Aaron.

Was racing the dtcc Apr on volcano climb.

Rode a smart race fast up the climb back to the line for 32 and small.change 3rd place in b- first with both power and hr.

Cross the line. Get the course finished badge and the score board comes up.....

Am nae there. Not showing on zp either. Got the event finished on zwift companion.

What happened there then. Apparently I'm still showing as on course at 22.9km ...despite my ride being ended and in inside with a beer.....

That sucks. Gutting after a big effort. I've heard of it happening before but no idea why.

I remember seeing you ahead but didn't notice where we came past (except that it was on the climb). Set a convincing PR on the climb today. The I got mugged while asleep on the final bridge and annoyingly didn't catch the last two C's. Had a PU as well but no one to draft.

You nipped by at the top of the climb on the 10% you were alone but caught the two bs I climbed up with I couldn't pull back onto them and settled in with the 2 as that were chasing you 5-6th in A

Started the TFA stage 3 race around New York Everything Bagel, after not being ready in time to do the whole group ride and I didn't have the patience to try and join late having not signed up beforehand.

Bit of a disaster, after descending the reverse KOM after ~10mins my legs told me in no uncertain terms they were not capable of continuing at ~290W, so it turned into a solo recovery ride where even holding ~200W was an effort.

Don't know what's going on, ever since doing ~294W average for the Tempus Fugit TT last Weds, I've felt shattered. Even ended up in bed after work on Monday and didn't surface until Tues morning.

Ah that explains it, I had head down at that point and a handy feather for the steep bit. Those two Bs you climbed with were pretty strong. We took 16-20s out of the A leader on the downhill. Wasn't till the power ramp at the end that they dropped back.

Yeah they looked a bit dodgy, as does the overall winner. Not in the zp results at all. Not that you can look currently as so appears to have died.

TTT update. I'll post again tomorrow:

- we have 7 riders signed up so far. room for one more. sign up to cat D here: https://www.zwift.com/events/view/759124
- our start delay is 6.5 minutes (in the pen by 6:33 I think, so that makes 6:39:30 our actual start time)
- IvanDobski you need to add the (STW) tag in zwiftpower rider name

TTT update:

We have a full team of 8 riders down to start this evening, everyone is entered and tagged correctly so we're ready to go:

kelvinshuffle A
mooman B
dangeourbrain B
phil56 B
ivandobski C
tiger6791 C
savoyad C
zilog6128 C

Be in the pen by event start time which is 18:33. Our start time is +6.5 minutes, so 18:39:30. During the delay (i.e. once the race starts), we mustn't pedal because if you do, you roll forwards. Like I did last week. If you insist on pedalling, go to the pairing screen first. Someone will take responsibility for timing and counting us down in the pen.

For comms, join the discord server here: https://discord.gg/fug5CQ we normally use the voice channel "STW Voice". Push to talk is best.

It'll be 3 laps of Volcano Flat (37.46km). Our result will be taken on the 4th rider to cross the line.

I think that's it. See you all in the pen.

I don't know if it makes any odds to your TTT later, but only 7 of you out of the 8 above are showing in the event list at Zwiftpower. Might be simply one of you isn't officially in the STW club at Zwiftpower.

@mooman you were supposed to wait until start + 6.5 mins before setting off. It doesn’t tell you when to go, you just have to know! Lot less confusing if you get on the Discord chat, someone always counts the team down to go time!!

I had a charging issue and battery went flat 2 mins before start 🙁 Gutted! Sorry lads!! Hope you had a good one.

We saw you set off and messaged you as you vanished down the road - you needed to wait until our start time, not the time when the clock hit zero!

We ended up with 5 riders after about 10 minutes due to a couple of mechanicals/electronicals but we looked pretty pro and less of a bunch this time.

I was struggling on that last little kicker and got "tractor-beamed" onto the back of those riders we were passing. By the time I got free I was off the back and done but thankfully the guys waited and we crossed as a 5.

I say thankfully, I wasn't actually that thankful if I'm being honest as I'd come to terms with cruising to the line at my own pace quite easily!

Yeah bit annoying that team we took then taking us back, as thats what made things go a bit ragged.

Sorry Mooman for not explaining the delayed start bit properly, hopefully not put you off another attempt some time.

What'd we reckon the time was about 55?

Well done chaps, five of you with same time on zwiftpower, very pro looking!

~25mins of British Cycling TT racing on Richmond Flats was enough for me at race pace at 1830, right now I have major reservations about attempting anything like 60mins you guys did.
